Firefighting sport is a demonstration of physical fitness of a firefighter. The element of training and preparation to perform professional tasks, often the most difficult, which require heavy physical exertion, speed, reflexes, control and team cooperation. We could see all of these during the three days of the Championships as part of rivalry and sports effort of firefighters.
Polish Championships in Firefighting Sports Competitions have always been not only the most important test of physical fitness of firefighters, but also a show of the
specificity of the service.

While watching firefighters struggling in these sports competitions, we could see the tasks of daily service and the physical effort of a rescuer.

It should be emphasized that the course of the competition was very interesting and rich in fierce competition, but played out in accordance with the principles and spirit of Fair Play.

The participation of three foreign teams helped to raise a high level of the Championships.

During the Championships, competition between players took place in four events:

1.       Firefighting  obstacle course - competition involving running for 100 m and at the same time performing the following steps:

- running up and over a wall,

- unrolling and connecting two sections of W52 fire hose,

- walking on the balance beam,

- connecting one end of the fire hose line to the base of the distributor cap, and the other to the nozzle.

2. Climbing using a hook ladder is one of the most spectacular competitions. A contestant, holding the hook ladder, runs up to a climbing point and, and hooking the ladder over a window sill on individual floors, climbs up to the third floor.

3. The 4 x 100 m obstacle relay race  - 4 contestants takes part in the race

Each of them runs 100 m, overcoming an obstacle. The first contestant overcomes  a house-obstacle running on its roof, the second contestant gets over a wall, the third contestant runs over a balance beam, combines two fire hoses in a fire hose line and connect it to the distributor, the fourth contestant extinguishes a burning liquid using  a dry-powder extinguisher. A nozzle functions here as a baton.

4. Water and foam equipment handling and use (fire hose rolling-unrolling). It is the most prestigious competition. The task is done by seven firefighters who have at their disposal:

motor pump,

- two sections of W 110 suction hose,

- suction device,

- 3sections of W 75 hose,

- 4 sections of 52hose,

- distributor,

- 2nozzles.

The task of the contestants was to build: a suction line for the container placed next to the motor pump, a main line and 2 fire hose lines. After people operating nozzles had taken their positions the contestants had to fill 10 litre container with water fed through the holes in the discs.

On the last day of the Championships, the contestants took part in the final race - a competition for the cup of the Minister of Interior Mr. Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz,  in which they had to climb using a hook ladder.

After the qualifying race and the final race, the final classification was as follows:

2nd place - VASILCHANKA Mikalai (BELARUS,) time: 13.76
