Delegation from CSSFS in LSTE in Brandenburg as part of the Leonardo da Vinci programme

On 31.08 - 06.09 2014 a delegation of employees from the Central School of the State Fire Service in Czestochowa with the Commandant of the School - Colonel Marek Chmiel at the head participated in the project VETPRO as part of the Leonadro da Vinci programme called “Lifelong Learning Programme” in “Landesschule und Technische Einrichtung für Brand- und Katastrophenschutz des Landes Brandenburg” in Eisenhüttenstadt.

The subject of the training was to learn about the functioning of the fire protection system in Brandenburg. The training began with a lecture on the protection system against fires and disasters in Brandenburg. The participants familiarized themselves with the structure of the fire service in Brandenburg, the training system for the needs of fire brigades and the organization of protection system against fire and disasters. An integral part of the training was to explore facilities connected with the fire service.

As regards the training system, the participants visited school facilities in Eisenhuttenstadt, exercise rooms for commanders, dispatchers, as well as training ground stations for practical exercises. In order to acquaint themselves with the functioning of the fire service, the delegation made a visit to a professional fire brigade in Frankfurt (Oder), a factory fire brigade in Alcelor Mittal in Eisenhuttenstadt,  as well as a volunteer fire brigade in Neuzelle. In addition, the participants learned about the functioning of the technical support unit of fire brigades in Borkheide and the central warehouse for protective equipment against disasters in Beeskow. 

The Commandant of the School, along with the deputy director of LSTE Mr. Heinz Rudolph talked about cooperation between the schools on the  exchange of experience between firefighters and the organization of joint training courses.
