The 7th NATIONAL firefighters pilgrimage to jasna góra 26/04/2015

On 26th of April,  a thousands of firefighters from whole Poland participated on the Mass in Jasna Gora. The guest of honor was the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski. On Biegański Square, President of Poland planted “Gratitude oak”. This was a reference to planted over six hundred trees on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of polish freedom. He expressed thanks to firemen who took part of this action.

In a symbolic pilgrimage participated color guards, honor companies and from the State Fire Service with  gen. Brigadier Wiesław Leśniakiewicz and dh. Waldemar Pawlak.  

State fire servis Chief gen . Brig. Wiesław Leśniakiewicz said about thanksgiving dimension of pilgrimage – for social and professional service for homeland and citizens. He reminded also that in 2015 will be 20th anniversary of the National Rescue - Firefighting.

Chairman of the Board of the Volunteer Fire Brigades dh Waldemar Pawlak said that service establishes, among others,to the traditions and attitudes of the patron of firefighters- Saint Florian.

Metropolitan of Gdansk, abp. Leszek Sławoj Gwódź delivered a homily during Mass. He highlighted that firefighters should head  not only for professionalism but also for responsibility and conscientiousness. 

The Polish Government was represented by Mrs. Teresa Piotrowska - Minister of Internal Affairs.  

In memory of 7th  National Firefighters Pilgrimage to Jasna Gora in Czestochowa, unveiled a gorget passed by firefighters, as a vote this pilgrimage.
